Our current healthcare system is broken. In most traditional primary care practices, you get less than 20 minutes with your doctor which is not enough time to address all your health concerns. You often spend hours waiting to be seen and must take the whole day off just for your appointment. Furthermore, navigating all the roadblocks put in place by health insurance companies is time consuming and expensive for patients and doctors alike. Patients are not the priority in corporate medicine.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) takes an old idea and makes it new again. In a DPC practice, the doctor is employed directly by the patient. By removing the healthcare insurance company as the middleman, the doctor and patient in the DPC model are no longer beholden the health insurance company and can instead focus on the health-related interests of the patient.
The DPC model allows doctors and patients to achieve the following:
Our mission is to develop a patient-doctor relationship that is convenient, affordable, and top-notch. We are here to help you reach your health goals and serve your best interests, not those of a third party.
Leon Springs Primary Care doctors are not pain medicine specialists and will not prescribe long term controlled substances. We will be happy to refer you to a pain specialist.
No. Leon Springs Primary Care does not take insurance because the goal is to have a direct relationship with the patient. We do not want a middleman interfering with that relationship. Leon Springs Primary Care will bill you a one-time initiation fee and a monthly fee after that.
We strongly recommend that our members continue to have insurance in case they need to be admitted to the hospital or need to see a specialist.
Due to federal regulations, patients who are eligible for Medicare are not able to join as members. We expect that this will change within the next year. If you have Medicare and would like to become a patient, please send us an email to be added to our waiting list and we will notify you when we are able to accept patients who are eligible for Medicare.
Anyone who wants a more personal approach to medicine without long wait times.
Your doctor will refer you to the specialist and help coordinate your care with the specialist. Your insurance can be used to help pay for specialist visits.
Your doctor will not be admitting you into the hospital; however, our hope is that with a close patient-doctor relationship we can prevent hospitalizations. We will do our best to coordinate as much of your care in the outpatient setting, which in the long run will save you money.
If you do need to be hospitalized, your primary doctor will be happy to speak to the hospitalist in charge of your care to assist with any of your ongoing medical issues. Our goal is to advocate for you even when you are in the hospital. Your doctor will also be ready to see you promptly after discharge from the hospital.
